March 28, 2017 Andrew Stephens

On February 21st 2017 I landed in the Philippines, making my Pacific Crossing official. The experiences that I have had over the last 223 days were nothing short of life changing. Having left Seattle with so many uncertainties and doubts about myself and my boat, the very idea of sailing across the largest ocean in the world seemed so far out of reach. Yet, I am writing this today from Cebu Island in the Philippines and so extremely proud of my accomplishment. It’s something that few have done and no one can ever take away.

Looking into the future, I would like to say I know where I will be going but honestly I have no idea, and I am ok with that. My goal in sailing around the world was never to simply end up where I started…rather it was to find “something” that I think most of us are looking for. That “something” still remains a mystery, but I would like to think I am a little closer to finding it.

I feel that the biggest way that it has changed my life is that I am more confident than ever to pursue almost any new venture in my life, as this last year has shown me that almost anything can be possible as long as you are brave enough to fail.

Here are also some links to a newspaper and radio interview I did when I was back home getting my transmission fixed.
